What is Brasil FurFest?
Brasil FurFest (BFF) is the largest convention in South America for fans of animal characters with human traits, also known as furries. These people are part of a community called the furry fandom.
The event has been held since 2016. It’s three days to make friends, meet people, take part in activities related to this culture and have fun!
In 2027, BFF will take place from September 10 to 12, in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais. The theme will be Conspiracy Theories!
Where is the event held?
Brasil FurFest 2027 will be held at Cenacon (Centro Nacional Inn de Convenções), in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais.
Cenacon has large halls, auditoriums and spaces for our activities.
It is in the same complex as the Vilage Inn and Golden Park hotels.
What is there at Brasil FurFest?
Lots of things! It’s a weekend event with many themed activities about the furry community. From talks to team games!
We also have the Furry Bazaar, where furry artists sell their work, and the Charity Auction, which supports a noble cause.
Three days of activities for every taste!
Do I need a fursuit or cosplay to attend?
You don’t need a fursuit or costume to attend! The furry fandom is about enjoying animal characters with human traits. Fursuits are costumes of these characters. They draw a lot of attention, but they are only one part of the fandom.
BFF and other furry conventions don’t require costumes. You can come in your regular clothes or even in your cosplay!
How do I take part?
It’s easy! You just need to buy your ticket on the official Brasil FurFest website.
Then just go to the event and check in when you arrive at Cenacon. You’ll receive an ID called a badge, which lets you into the convention. You must keep your badge visible throughout the event.
That’s it! Now just enjoy!
Can minors attend?
Yes! People under 18 can attend Brasil FurFest, but they must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The minor can attend with their father, mother or legal guardian. They can also attend with another adult who has a ticket for the event. In that case, an authorization notarized at a registry office (cartório), in two copies, signed by the legal guardian, is mandatory.
Where do I buy tickets?
Tickets are sold only on the official Brasil FurFest website. You choose your ticket, sign up and pay online.
Don’t buy tickets from strangers. That way, you avoid scams!
How does buying tickets work?
First, choose your ticket type, then your experience package. Next, fill in your details and make the payment.
You can pay by credit card in up to 12 interest-free installments.
Once the payment is confirmed, your registration is guaranteed!
I didn’t understand the experience packages. How do they work?
Experience packages are the add-ons to BFF tickets.
Every type gives you access to the event. The difference is in the goodies and perks of each package.
The standard, free package is Fursona. It already comes with some goodies for you to keep as a BFF souvenir.
The other packages offer more goodies and perks. Pick the one you like best and that fits your budget!
What should I do when I arrive at the event?
First, go to check-in. Bring your original photo ID to pick up your attendee badge.
You must wear your badge throughout the event. It shows that you are registered for Brasil FurFest.
Then go to the designated spot to pick up the goodies from your experience package. That’s it! Now just enjoy BFF!
What is there to do at Brasil FurFest?
You choose what you want to do. You can take part in many activities or simply hang out and chat with your friends. The event offers a lot over the weekend. Attendees can watch the many talks and panels, enter the dance competition, follow the Fursuit Parade, visit the Furry Bazaar, join team games, sing karaoke and even challenge other furries in our game room!
We also have parties, music performances and our traditional Charity Auction, where besides supporting a noble cause, some of the moments end up being the most remembered after the event!
I’m not sure I should go, I don’t know anyone. What now?
No problem! Many people go to BFF without knowing anyone.
That’s why the first activity of the event is a Social Mixer, a big, fun group activity made for those who want to meet other attendees.
You can chat, make friends and find people who like the same things you do!
Don’t be shy! Everyone was a newcomer once. BFF can be the start of great friendships!
What should I bring to the event?
Bring an official photo ID, your phone, a charger, comfortable clothes and your personal items. If you have a fursuit or cosplay, bring your outfit.
Don’t forget swimwear to enjoy the pools. Don’t forget your medication, if you take any.
You don’t need to bring proof of registration.
Do I need to stay at the event hotel?
No! You can attend BFF without staying at the hotel.
You can sleep at another hotel, stay at a friend’s place or even live in Poços de Caldas.
But staying at the official hotel is more convenient. You’ll be close to all the activities!
How do I book hotel rooms?
Bookings for the official hotels are made only through the Brasil FurFest website.
You choose which days you want to stay at the hotel and how many people will share the room with you, enter your details and make the payment. You can pay by credit card in up to 12 interest-free installments. Rooms are limited, so it’s best to book as soon as possible!
What is included in the All Inclusive stay?
All Inclusive means food and drinks are already included in the price of your stay!
You can eat and drink at the times and places offered by the hotel, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. This includes meals, snacks, soft drinks, juices and even alcoholic beverages for those over 18.
Attention! The hotel does not serve alcoholic beverages to visibly drunk people. Sharing food or drinks with people who are not staying at the hotel is also not allowed.
What if the hotel fills up?
BFF will have two official hotels!
The main one will be the Vilage Inn All Inclusive Resort by Nacional Inn. If rooms run out, we’ll open bookings for the Golden Park All Inclusive by Nacional Inn, which is also in the same complex as Cenacon. Both offer All Inclusive stays. Bookings are made only through the BFF website!
How do I get to Poços de Caldas?
Poços de Caldas is in the south of Minas Gerais, on the border with the state of São Paulo. You can get there by car or bus.
From São Paulo, Viação Cometa has frequent buses to the city. BFF is also looking into offering its own transportation from the city of São Paulo. If that happens, we’ll let you know! If you’re flying in, a good option is Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas, SP. From there, you can continue by car or bus to Poços de Caldas.
