Information
Minors
In accordance with the Brazilian Statute of Children and Adolescents (ECA) and the hotel’s rules, some documents must be presented for a minor to be able to take part in the event.
Minors are welcome at Brasil FurFest!
Fathers, mothers or guardians of minors may enter Brasil FurFest without paying the contribution fee (registration), in the companion category. To do so, just fill in the registration, stating that the attendee will be accompanied by their father, mother or guardian. This benefit cannot be extended to other relatives of the minor, except for duly identified guardians.
Unaccompanied minors need their parents’ authorization naming an adult registered at the event as responsible for them in order to take part.
About check-in and documents for minors
- Anyone who is not yet 18 years old one day before the first day of Brasil FurFest will be considered a minor;
- Everyone must have their original ID document at check-in. By law, certified copies are not considered valid documents;
- “Accompanied minors” are those accompanied by at least one parent or guardian, upon presentation of a document proving custody of the minor;
- If accompanied by a parent, just present the original ID documents of the minor and of the father and/or mother at check-in on the day of Brasil FurFest.
- If accompanied by a guardian, the original ID documents of the minor and of the guardian must be presented at check-in, along with a certified copy of the document proving custody of the minor.
- “Unaccompanied minors” are Brazilian minors under 18 years old.
They must present at check-in:
- An authorization from one of the parents or legal guardian, correctly filled in using the template available on the Brasil FurFest website, with the signature notarized (in two copies), naming as responsible an adult who is registered at BFF and is not part of the event’s organization;
- Certified copies of the parent(s)’ documents (in two copies). For a guardian, certified copies of the document proving custody of the minor (in two copies), plus copies of the guardian’s ID (in two copies).
- Original ID document of the minor and of the adult appointed by the parents, who will be the minor’s legal guardian during Brasil FurFest.
- Minors who are not Brazilian will be considered “foreign minors” and may only attend BFF in the presence of one of their parents and carrying original ID documents or passports;
- Fathers and mothers (or a guardian with proof of custody) are entitled to accompany attendees during Brasil FurFest as “companion(s)”, and are exempt from the contribution fee (registration), as long as they register within the deadline set by BFF.
- Companions are only entitled to a “companion” badge, which gives access to the hotel’s Convention Center and to the Fursuit Lounge if their child is a fursuiter. Companions will be given the same discounts offered to other attendees at Brasil FurFest partner venues. Companions are not entitled to take part in interactive activities, receive prizes, sell items at the furry bazaar, appear in official photos or take part in any convention-related activities, unless the Brasil FurFest staff or chairman announce otherwise;
- Attendees and companions agree to wear the badge provided by Brasil FurFest throughout the entire event.
