Off to Poços de Caldas!
Coming from Campinas or São Paulo? Then let us help you get ready for the trip! We’ll help even if you’re not coming from there!
Poços de Caldas is in the south of Minas Gerais and is super easy to reach, by bus or by car. We just don’t recommend coming by bike, the hills are brutal! And depending on where you’re leaving from, the trip can be a great chance to enjoy the road and the scenery along the way.
Leaving from Campinas
From Campinas to Poços de Caldas, the trip by car usually takes about 2 hours. The best route goes through the Mogi Guaçu region, heading toward the south of Minas Gerais.
Leaving from São Paulo
From the city of São Paulo, the trip usually takes about 3 hours by car, but keep in mind that traffic leaving the city can make a big difference. One option is to head toward the Campinas region and continue on to Poços de Caldas, but if you want different views, you can take the Pouso Alegre route and come through the interior of Minas Gerais!
Prefer to go by bus?
It’s also worth checking the bus options to Poços de Caldas. There are buses leaving from Campinas, São Paulo, and a WHOLE BUNCH of cities along the way, and from other routes, that come here! The one from São Paulo leaves every 30 minutes.
Some tips for a smooth trip
Check the route on your GPS before leaving and take a quick look at traffic and weather conditions. Always drive carefully, and take the mountain road up here at a moderate speed!
If you’re driving, fill up the tank and plan your food stops in the delicious town of Águas da Prata, which is on the way. They have a FAMOUS pão de queijo (cheese bread) there. And remember, if you come by car, bring your LASAGNA because we’re going to display it at Brasil FurFest!
If you’re taking the bus, buy your ticket in advance so you don’t miss out! Even though there are plenty, they fill up fast.
And for those of you still recovering from the Brasil FurFest 2026 registration ordeal, plan to arrive early and avoid that last-minute rush… Just kidding, registration is sorted out, you can arrive any time!
And that’s it! Now just pack your bags, put the fursuit in the trunk, call your friends and hit the road. Poços de Caldas is waiting for you with beautiful scenery, good food and that warm Minas Gerais hospitality.
