Who we are
Brasil Furfest!

Brasil FurFest, also known among furries as BFF, is a private charity party in the format of a weekend-long, furry-themed hotel convention, previously organized by an association and, from 2026 onward, by BFF Eventos e Intermediação LTDA. The event takes place every year and, over the years, has moved through different cities and hotels. After historic editions in Santos, SP, São Paulo, SP and Campinas, SP, the 2027 edition will be held at CENACON, in Poços de Caldas, MG, marking its ninth in-person edition.

Among other goals, Brasil FurFest raises funds for charity, supporting social projects that care for vulnerable animals. In 2026, the event raised more than R$ 70,000 for charitable causes, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to social responsibility.

The event was created in 2016 by furries, fans of anthropomorphic art — an artistic expression that blends human and animal traits — to be a meeting point for the furry fandom, the community of artists and fans of this subculture. The convention was inspired by similar events held in the United States and Europe.

A furry hotel convention in Brazil

The original idea came about in 2014, when its founders planned a hotel convention in Santos, SP under the name “Confursão” (São Paulo Furry Convention). To gain experience organizing large events, Furboliche (a furry bowling meetup) was created. After other projects on the national scene were cancelled, the team decided to go ahead with the convention, adopting the name Brasil FurFest.

BFF was officially announced during the fifth edition of Furboliche, with the presentation of the event’s concept and the launch of a crowdfunding campaign. The initial goal was reached in just 13 days, ensuring the first edition, held from September 9 to 11, 2016, with 169 attendees from several regions of Brazil and abroad.

Since then, Brasil FurFest has grown steadily in attendance, structure and relevance. After the break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the event returned in 2022 and kept expanding. In 2024 it passed the mark of 1,100 attendees, in 2025 it reached 1,356 attendees, and in 2026 it reached a record xxxx attendees, establishing itself as the largest furry convention in South America.

In 2026, aiming for the growth and continuity of the event, BFF Eventos e Intermediações LTDA. was founded, the company now responsible for carrying this dream forward for many, many years.

Today, Brasil FurFest expects to establish itself in its new home, the hot springs town of Poços de Caldas, MG, in 2027. The event stands out not only as a space for artistic and cultural celebration, but also as an inclusive, welcoming and diverse environment, especially important for communities such as LGBTQIA+ people and neurodivergent people.
